Log Cabin Camp

COMPANY HISTORY

Log Cabin Lodge was started nearly 30 years ago by a small group of men from Creswick and other local towns.

These men had a vision to establish a Christian, non-denominational campsite with a variety of activities that would be available to all kinds of groups but young people in particular.

Initially camps were held during school holidays and were run by these men and other volunteers from local Churches. A Board of Management was set up to oversee the development and use of the campsite.

Since this time the running of the Campsite has been transferred to a similar body of men with a not for profit Christian Incorporated body.

Log Cabin Christian Camp was formed in 2003 and in part has the same vision and mission as the old Board of Management.

Full time staff are now employed to manage the day to day running of the property and program with some volunteers also involved in various aspects of the camp.

Over the past twenty years the facility was developed and more camping groups began to book and use the facilities.

In more recent times a ‘state of the art’ flying fox has been constructed… Canoes have been purchased and are used regularly on the large dam. A children’s playground and trampolines have also been erected.

These are but a few of the activities established at Log Cabin Christian Camp.

Due to the accreditation process which has been undertaken, it has been necessary to quarantine some of the activities at the Log Cabin Christian camp site.

These activities are currently being upgraded to industry standards and will be brought back on line by the end off 2006.
